Arthritis. Aches. A lot. –Setup–

Letter A, day 8/14, 8/365

So, this is clearly not a photograph. I mean, it is, but it’s not a photograph. I have an excuse, I promise, but you’re not going to read it. The bottom line is that I’m unable to make a legitimate 365 post today, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been thinking all day about what I wanted to do, so here it is:

I don’t have a ready-made set of arthritic hands with which to make this shot, so I’m going to have to use my own. My plan is to tip a bottle of painkillers over on a glass table. I’ll also have a glass of water of course, and clenched, painful-looking hands behind the setup I just described.

To light this shot, I want to have my little softbox underneath the table, lighting it from below. I think this should dramatically light everything from the pills to the hands. I’ve got some pretty veiny grippers, so the light will (hopefully) play some creepy tricks on them.

It’s entirely possible that this will look like crap. 99% of my ideas don’t pan out. Regardless, I’m going to execute this shot, and if it doesn’t work, I’ll still post the picture.

It’s all about learning, folks. Stay tuned for tomorrow’s posts!
